are spaniels a good family/companion dogs ???????

right now i have a 5 month old pug puppy but im thinking about gettign another dog ( maybe at the end of this year or a little bit sooner) but i want to start researching now
i did lots of research on websites like :

2-3 hours is sufficient for a springer or english cocker spaniel. One hour of a good hard run is okay, but you’ll need to think of other ways to keep their mind occuppied so they won’t become destructive in the house. Spaniels from good breeders and that have been raised in a good environment will be good with children. Some American Cocker Spaniels have bad temperaments from over and bad breeding. English Cocker Spaniels don’t have as much hair as the American variety and tend not to be as mean tempered either.

Spaniels are very family oriented.They are an energetic and intelligent breed so they need an active family that will stimulate them physically and mentally.

I’d go for the English Cocker Spaniel over the Springer as they have less health problems aren’t as hyper and aren’t as common as Springers.
