Help? Thesis trouble.! [english class]?

I have a research paper to do. The topic is animal experimentation, is this a good thesis? what is missing or what should i take out to make it better??

Try these changes:

Domesticated dogs are often described as man’s best friend, yet these same animals are used as guinea pigs in the modern laboratory. One of the most popular dog breeds in the United States is the Beagle; these gentle dogs are known for their sweet disposition, making them a key target for experimentation even though it has been proven to be useless. The fruitless experimentation on animals is cruel and inhumane, and therefore must be stopped.

The last sentence can be changed. I just added it because you were missing an actual thesis statement. You need to make your opinion on animal testing in general known. The rest is a good attention grabber. I only made minor changes. Good job, though.
