Can someone help me and my dog?

I have a Japanese Chin. We believe she came from a puppy mill (a breeder of dog breeds only for the money) She is afraid of everything! plastic bags, feet, phones, whatever! She also is afraid of people. The only people who are not afraid of me is my mom and my friend. Mostly men. She also is afraid of collers, I think she was surprised. Does anyone have any NOTICE NOT FOR so their fear?

You'll have to take things slowly and with this small. She needs to be insensitive. I suggest you get her used to people first. It has a small group (3-4) of visitors come to your home – you will feel much safer if she is on her own ground. Do not let anyone near her. Wait for approaches them. Give each guest a small handful of extra scrumptions sandwiches – cut the chicken breast, skin, is excellent. Or get some Cheerios – a lot small dog trainers use them as treats. Want something tasty – and not what they normally give as treats. This has to be particular as people equate "Something good will happen" if I go to them. You may not succeed in his first attempt, but paitent. The same with inanimate objects – something since she is afraid on the ground. Ignore and herself. See what he does. Put an extra taste treat several feet away from the object and point to it. Praise like crazy when she takes treatment. Gradually move it closer to the object of fear … The key is small amouts training several times a day. Do not overload your senses. It need a "safe" of its own when frightened. A drawer under the bed, somewhere where it can be safe. And above all, be patient! Take time, but you will have a lover, a dog without fear over time. Another source of information? As for the Yahoo groups. Most races have at least one group of by two reputable breeders and pet owners. 'll Get a lot of information. Good luck.

Japanese Chin puppy question.?

I just adopted one week Japanese Chin 11 (female) puppy this past weekend. She sleeps all good and do not play much with toys. She chews on things from time to time and loves to wag his tail and give kisses. But I bet she is not, but 10-15 (maybe) at a time before falling asleep again. She was eating and drinking. She has an ulcer on the eye I was cautious, but I talked to a vet yesterday and seemed to think your eye drops cure and it does not need surgery. I just to receive this little puppy and I've never been so stressed out by a pet. You've never had a chin puppies before and I was crying in the night (it did not cry or bark) and fun to play without stopping. Should I be concerned or is this normal with this breed? I guess I would have chosen a breed of dog best known, but it is really a sweet dog.

awww baby! Do not worry. She's fine. My chin is almost 5 years. They are very affectionate dogs who just want love and I love you. Low energy consumption is common. Suki (my baby) get a few bursts of energy all day with a majority sleep. She still plays and circling crazy, but it only lasts a few minutes. Then, panting like crazy for what appears to be 20 minutes. It is love and has a bed in every room of the house. When I go into the bedroom of two parts, she follows me and just goes back to sleep in this bed. As a puppy, I was in a bag puppy before. She loved him. :) So, all you have to do is to shower baby love and understanding that is a sleeper. I think Suki hates to walk, but she likes to do on foot! Spoiled! ~ Sasha
