How would my German Shepherd to react to an intruder.?

So I have a female pastor, about 10 months old. Shes super nice to all, except when out the back of my house, in which case they become defensive and barks at anyone who comes to the door. I have a few questions: 1) if I was walking one day she and some guys tried to mug, how would you react? 2) if she was inside me and someone tried to or succeeded in entering, How he would react. His arm was bitten, but he said the dog attacked him once in the house they just do not left out of the corner. Thank God the man was not armed or I can not imagine what would have happened. Sam would not allow the police near the man until he was suspended. He never showed aggession to either the police or emergency medical technicians. He was even out with me when my neighbor and I give our statements and was completely at ease once the man was gone. While the EMT, where he was dressing me untied, but Sam was completely calm, but never took his eyes off him. Only he possibly did play around with the police. So I guess my point is somehow just know what to do and who do so. Oh, and always make sure have their dogs shot records in an easy place to find … I hope this gives you some comfort!
