My dog can get a sunburn?

I posted this question before but I do want more answers. I have one year an old Terrier mix Chihuahua /. It is, of course, a race of color (beige) with a pink nose. I love being outside and sunbathe for long periods time. Because of their physical appearance, has much of sunburn in the ears, under arms and chest. I am currently using the aloe vera plant native to help heal wounds. However, what I can do to prevent sunburn again? I heard the work of sunscreen, but it is safe for dogs to digest? No dog sunscreen in my area, but I go to my vet in a few days to get advice. Is acceptable to him, because if I were to put an umbrella over him? Thank you very much.

I took him to the vet to see if you have any shots sun, and see what the vet can give.
