What small dog breed do you think would be best for me?

OK .. I'm fine with lots of preparation. I'm home 85% time. I have two small children (ages 10 and 3). Currently I have two boxers and a blue heeler / jack russell border collie mix. I love dogs and I am more than willing to spend extended time with a new dog. What do you think small breeds would be best for my family? Even with my children?

The most likely of these three theories is probably the first (the wolf), but there are many different breeds of dog, it is difficult to imagine how they all had the same principles.

We believe that Dogs were the first "tamed" and kept by humans for food, not like today, cattle and sheep. Some primitive societies today still eat the dogs, then it's probably true.
