i narrowed my search for a puppy within these breeds: Maltese and Lhasa Apso , which one should i choose?

i am confused to death, and they are both small and cute and i am gonna adopt the dog from an animal shelter so, ya. andi couldnt find any maltese near my area, but i still want one and these are my options any suggestions………?
