Can you give me information about papillons (breed of dog)?

Do you shed or bark a lot? Does it take much preparation and exercise?

The Papillon is a small dog breed with distinctive large, fringed ears that earned it its name, the French word for butterfly. The Papillon is believed to be one of the oldest toy breeds. According to Standard AKC breed, the Papillon has an abundant layer of fluid, short head, but with a wheel length in the breast. The Papillon has no cape. The tail should be a tuft of long hair. The PHALENE is the same as erect ears Papillon dog except for his fall-like ears. The AKC believes that the PHALENE and the Papillon the same breed. The countries whose breed clubs follow the FCI standard consider Papillons and phalène two races apart. Papillons are white with colored spots. The color markup are allowed. However, color should always cover both eyes and the front and back of the ear to give the proper butterfly look. A white blaze and noseband on the face are preferred. The size should range from 8 inches to 12 inches at the shoulder (11 inches in the UK) with the papillon average between 9 and 10.5 cm in height and weight in proportion. Although the breed has the connotation of a delicate toy breed, many owners say that they behave like big dogs in small bodies of dogs. "There are several possible reasons for this. First, the Papillion is strong, some people find that their Papillon is very capable of handling five good walk a mile. Some owners believe the reality is that they will resist as a way out if the grass is dampish or if there two clouds in the sky that might lead to rain, but others have experienced as very versatile in almost all conditions, although not necessarily with prolonged exposure. May appear to be larger dogs because to many people Papillons appear not to be prone to small dog trembling when confronted with new situations. In fact, some Papillon owners believe that their dogs interpret any new event is set for your benefit, and that the dogs do their best to be attentive hosts or hostesses. Other aspect of the Papillon that has led many to believe the claim of the "big dog" is the athleticism of this breed is not surprising. Perhaps people are surprised that, in contrast to their representation in formal and stately old master portraits, the Papillon is highly energetic and intelligent (Stanley Coren, on the understanding of the Dogs, rates the Papillon eighth among all breeds). Provided their genetic structure is sound and healthy, Papillons are built for movement, and most do not need any encouragement to apply their energy to the Athletic activities. To make a Papillon coat really shine to its maximum, should be brushed once or twice daily, and the dog bathed at least every two weeks. As puppies, papillons have silky, medium length fur. They go through a stage of "Ugly Baby" where you lose much of their baby fur and grow in their adult skin. The Papillon originated in Spain and was perfected by the French and was a favorite at the French court. The most famous owner was Henry III, documentation of his devotion to the breed is in its declaration of Papillon as the official dog of the Royal Court of Justice during his tenure. Other celebrity owners are said to have been Marie Antoinette and Madame de Pompadour. There is evidence that these small dogs are a favorite of European aristocracy, particularly French royalty, during the time of the great masters, as Continental Toy Spaniels (phalène and Papillons) were included in many portraits of great teachers real from as early as the sixteenth century. The Papillon is a very athletic breed. There many stories about the Papillon. Marie Antoinette is said to be headed for the guillotine clutching her small dog under his arm. Tradition says that his dog was a small dog that had been taken to the French court from Spain on the back of pack mules. According to the story, your puppy was saved and treated at a building in Paris still called the Papillon House. Marie small spaniel was said to have descended of a very old drop-eared breed known as the Epagneul Nain Continental, or Continental Dwarf / Toy Spaniel that appeared in church frescos and paintings as early as the 13th century. The Papillon is still officially called the Epagneul Nain Continental (ENC) in non-English speaking countries. The name Squirrel Spaniel also has been used, probably referring to a first level at which the tail set is described as "camber on the back like a squirrel." One version of the history of both varieties shaped ears in the ENC ( "Papillon" to denote the erect ear and "PHALENE" to refer to the ear down) is that toward the end of the 19th century, breed breeders breed a version of the puppy's ears stood up. This dog was said to have been nicknamed papillon based on the impressively large erect ears that resembled the wings of a butterfly. The drop eared variety of the breed came to be called the PHALENE (which means "night moth"). Both rates are being raised today and appear in the same litter. The Papillon variety is much more common, although recently the PHALENE has experienced a resurgence in popularity. In recent years, the Papillon has become a star of small dog in the sport of dog agility. This sport is an obstacle course with tunnels, jumps, A-frames and narrow bridges that a dog completes at top speed for the help only verbal and body language commands from a controller. Agility requires the dog to spring, fight, tissue, and trigger a penny. The breed is considered naturally agile, and Papillons compete at national and international tests. Due that many Papillons have intense drive and natural speed, small turning radius gives them an edge over larger dogs, and some Papillons are capable of overcoming the boundaries, including Collie speeds on some courses. At the same time, Papillons excel in companionship and lap dog sweepstakes, and take very seriously. The first dog to ever win a MACH title in Alaska is an Other. Papillon Papillons have experienced as very sociable, yet physical activity required for proper dog socialization, exercise steady and controlled, continuous training (which also serves to stimulate their active minds), and daily, proactive human-to-canine interaction. The Papillon is fairly healthy breed, but like all dog breeds there are some health problems are common. These include: von Willebrand patella dislocation valve disease mitral dysplasia – a congenital heart defect progressive retinal atrophy
