Is there a bailout for the Turkish Kangal dog in America?
I've been searching with little luck. I would like to adopt one! i dont believe in buying breeders. and yet I've only found 5 in America (the breeders that is) and wondered if anyone knew of no ransom Kangal Dog's in the U.S.? or possibly from Canada? I have included some pictures becaue i have said it is a rare and http://img247 not many are familiar with it. http://www.polisiye.com/yazi_resimleri/kangal.jpg http://ashkabadkennel.com/images/copy6-03etigrp4premier.jpg .imageshack.us/img247/1567/kangal29eo3.jpg http://www.dogclub.co.uk http://www.kulturturizm.gov.tr/ EN / resimgoster.aspx? How interesting "versus" someone who knows Kangal Dogs – I've written about them in "999 and Other Working Dogs" (Amazon). It is unlikely to find a rescue home for these dogs, whether in the U.S., or Turkey, where the government and other breeders keep a close eye on them. This is because they need a wide area in which to roam. They are great watchdogs, but are bred for open spaces. There are several breeders in the U.S. states – Why not Google or Karabash Kangal or Anatolian shepherd dogs (all names that pass, and every breeder said that 'his' name is correct!). Meet with them and eventually you might find one that allows a puppy go to another owner – if you think your home is adequate. Good luck – I hope that my book may give you more information about their history and breeding. Verite R
