"Hey Dad, I just adopted a Pit Bull and I'm bringing home." Jim heart sank. Is not the world's most dangerous dog? After all, Pit Bulls are murderers, right?

In fact, not murderers, Pit Bulls are born. They are among the dog breeds powerful, along with German Shepherds, Rottweiler, and others. Powerful breeds need an owner who has lots of energy. If the owner or handler has low energy, the dog knows and about assuming the role of group leader, the dominant role.

With some breeds of dogs such as Yorkshire Terriers, no matter whether the owner of the dog lets take the lead. The dog will not be as happy and content, but nobody's life will be endangered.

Powerful breeds of dogs, however, require a strong and high energy driver. If the dog becomes the leader, who could become a threat to other dogs and even people.

If more than a submissive, do not write despair. You can learn to be dominant. For starters, keep your head up and walk like you own the world. Draft a sense energy, believing you are in control.

Consistently maintain that the position of having confidence, energy and leadership. You do not want to seem weak, even for a minute, and with Pit Bulls and other powerful races is even more important to maintain that leadership position.

Some Pit Bulls, as with all dogs are born submissive. These will be easier to master. Others, however, are born dominant, and these dogs require more effort on your part. You will to take the dominant role as soon as the dog comes to live with you, and be prepared to defend the paper at all times.

How do assume that dominant role? It is a matter of yelling, hitting or threatening your Pit Bull. In fact, those actions will make it look weak and turn your dog into a neurotic mess. Pit Bulls are those that attack people and other dogs.

Being dominant is a matter of inner strength and confidence, and what Cesar Millan calls "calm-assertive". He believes that there is a shortage of people with that quality of character.

Calm-assertive means relaxed but in control. It takes energy, but is much better than the alternative – Let the dog in control. If you do not have the energy to maintain dominance over a powerful breed like a Pit Bull, you need to consider getting a breed different that does not require much energy.

When a Pit Bull is with an owner who has learned to drive, he will feel at ease and be happy to follow. Dogs need to be in the submissive role to be happy. That does not mean they should be beaten and broken. This means you need an owner who can assume leadership position with a calm-assertive, self-reliance in energy.

Pit Bulls want and need a strong leader. They will not be satisfied with an owner who assumes the role leader. They also need lots of attention, and someone with time to fund the exercise every day. A dog tired after a good race is a happy dog and happy.

It's sad when Pit Bull attacks happen. The attacks could have been easily prevented if Pit Bulls and other breeds are driven by powerful people I knew how to take the lead and show a strong energy calm. No need to ban certain breeds of dogs. Only there is a need to train people to be leaders.
