Dog Breeds Small To Medium

Around the world there is considerable debate as to which dogs are best for the week. Most experts just judge the effectiveness of the dogs that are familiar strangers ignoring less local dogs. Most of the lists tend to be regional and not global. In England, large terriers appear above on the list, while in Europe they tend to lean toward traditional dogs like German shepherds and Doberman Pinscher. The Americans tend to add lists Pit Bull Terrier, and while the Japanese add the Tosa Inu. The list here takes into account these factors and presents a good balance of guard dogs worldwide.
10. Tosa Inu
The Tosa Inu is a massive stately dog. Bred for centuries in Japan, the Tosa is surprisingly athletic and agile. With a large head and broad skull, has a large mouth with very powerful jaws. The size and depth of this dog's bark is an excellent deterrent to intruders. Tosa Inus are crosses between Great Danes, Saint Bernard, and mastiffs, and were created to be large fighting dogs. They're very smart and do not require repetitive training, but not its size, should not be with children without supervision.
9. American Akita

5. Rhodesian Ridgeback
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a breed that is native to South Africa. The Ridgeback's distinguishing feature is the ridge of hair along its back running in the opposite direction the rest of its muscle layer and usually with a light layer of wheat, which should be short, dense, sleek and shiny in appearance and not woolly or silky. Ridgebacks are loyal and intelligent but tend to be aloof with strangers. A Ridgeback of proper temperament will be more inclined to ignore a stranger to challenge them. This breed requires positive, reward based on training, socialization and a good consistency, and it is often the best choice for inexperienced dog owners.
4. Bull Mastiff
The Bullmastiff is a powerful dog, which was originally a cross between the English Mastiff and Old English Bulldog. Originally bred to find and detain at poachers, the breed has proven very popular as a family pet. A Bullmastiff can be bold and confident, yet docile. It has a very strong protective instinct and defend against any threat to their owners, and any threat to its territory. Their protective instinct combined with their large size and the natural caution of strangers means that early socialization and obedience training is essential.
3. Rottweiler
The Rottweiler is a medium large breed originating in Germany as a herding dog. It is a hardy breed and very intelligent, with well developed genetic breeding and protection instincts, but potentially dangerous behavior in Rottweilers usually results from irresponsible ownership, abuse, neglect or lack of socialization and training.
2. Doberman Pinscher
Doberman Pinschers are among the most common breeds of animals and the breed is well known as an intelligent companion dog, alert and loyal. The coat is short Pinscher dogs compact design with strength and speed and a proud, vigilant and determined, and obedient temperament. Although once used as guard dogs, guard dogs or police dogs, this is less common today.
1. German Shepherd
One of the breeds registered in the world are German Shepherds relatively new breed of dog whose origins date back to 1899 and were originally developed for herding sheep. The breed is characterized by a willingness to learn and desire of purpose. Because of their strength, intelligence and skills in obedience training are often used in police and military functions. Note, while Pit Bull is a popular dog, is also the top dog of evil and I would not recommend it for a guard dog because of its chaotic temperament and history. The Pit Bull can be a very loving dog and deterrence excellent as a watch dog and we need to bring these dog lovers in the world again as a race of security for families.
