What is a good apartment dog?

I need a very friendly dog, preferably under 15 lbs full grown, no more than 25 pounds! That is good with children and other dogs! I have a Papillon 8 pounds, I want a friend for him! But a dog that would be compatible with our lifestyle! We live in an apartment have a 2 year old daughter and a male dog 8 pounds! Please do not say "out of your local animal shelter." I would like specific breeds that are good with children and other small dogs! Whether the knowledge or experience! Thanks in advance!

I like the poodle mix because it is quiet, smart and not shed. I have a Cockapoo men and that is wonderful with children.
