Of all breeds of dog from one of the fluffiest and cutest is the American Eskimo puppy. It Spitz family and considered a Nordic race. When brought to America its name was changed to American Eskimo dog. Originally associated with the white German Spitz. Originally the name was changed because, after the First World War was widespread sentiment against Germany. They are considered two separate races, but the two very closely related.

The evidence shows that the "white Spitz was also brought to America by German immigrants. The studbook was closed by the North American Eskimo Dog Association in 1969. To gain acceptance in the AKC, The American Eskimo Dog Club of America was formed in 1985.

Power on July 1, 1995 the American Eskimo dog was accepted into the AKC in the non-Sporting Group. There are three sizes of the breed, standard, miniature, and of course the toy. The standard size will reach a height of 15 to 19 inches, and weighs between 18 and 35 pounds. A thumbnail will be 12-15 inches tall and weigh 10-20 pounds. A toy dog is 9-12 inches tall and weigh six to ten pounds.

Being a dog of small to medium sized American Eskimo dog is a well-balanced, compact Nordic type dog. When walking or running you will see a march smooth. The dog is also very alert. There are very distinctive black spots on the dogs face. They are around the edges of the eyes, lips and nose. The ears also have points are black and triangular shaped and stand erect.

The layer is two times. The coat consists of short dense hair. The outer coat grows through the layer of long hair guard. This gives the dog a double layer. Hair should set flat with no waves or curls. Around the neck and chest of the layer is much thicker and forms a collar-like back. This feature is more pronounced in males than in females. The look of buttocks, which is characteristic of the breed, is formed around the legs to the hocks and is covered with very thick hair too. The tail is carried slightly back and it's plum. The color of the Eskimo dog of America should be white pure white and although cream crackers is also allowed.

As a young American Eskimo is a bit on the conservative side, but is generally nice. They are very intelligent and very alert. If it is demonstrated that they can be punished, either for being too aggressive or shy. If you want a body control is a good breed, because their alert is going to bark when someone is approaching. They generally do not threaten to bite or attack people, but they are jealous their area and the family. It's quick and eager to learn new tricks.
