Dog health questions please answer?

There are a few questions about worming today, do you think it wise that we recommend what WE do even if it goes against vets advice? eg – I only worm my dogs twice a year, vets in the UK recommend quarterly.

Also when a question goes to voting is it OK to vote for ones own answer?
In the UK we don’t have some of the awful worms that you do in the States, (heartworm for instance) and we don’t do the tests, we treat for round and tape. This is my point I don’t think it nescessary to treat for worms quarterly but the vets do and is it right that we recommend to less experienced owners our opinions?

Yes I think that voting for ones own answer is cheating.

I live in the UK (don’t be too complacent about heartworm by the way, it is known in the UK although it’s not yet endemic here) and I prefer not to overload my animals with constant worming either. Never have, and it’s not been an issue with mine.

I do worm my puppies according to the normal recommendations however and also their dams.
