Dog Health Care Advice

Is it okay to have a dog while in college?
I don’t live on campus, and I have more than enough money to afford the dog’s health care and daily needs. I’m graduating in two years.
I want to get a doberman pinscher. Does anyone have any advice about getting a dog while still in college, or about the doberman breed in general?
No, I don’t have a job. But I don’t need one. Money is not an issue.
It is illegal to tell a person they’re not allowed to move into a building because they have a dog (unless you sign a contract saying you won’t, of course). But yeah, land lords are not allowed to refuse dogs here in Canada.
I’ll never get a cat. I hate cat boxes, they stink!
My brother has a dog and he’s a Junior in college.
He’s been very successful with her and as long as you have the time, patience, room, and money to support a dog and all of its training needs, I say go for it.
The Doberman can be a little hard-headed, just like any other breed can, but is still very smart and, therefore, needs physical and intellectual stimulation or they can become destructive.
I would suggest heading to your local shelter to see what they have, Dobermans are there more times than not and they need a home.
