Dog Health Issues By Breed

Why would you breed your dog?
Why would you breed your dog if you haven’t done any research? Do you understand everything required to have a healthy litter? Do you know what genetic issues your breed has and have you had your dogs tested for them? I personally think that not having the animals tested is totally irresponsible. And I don’t just mean health screened, I mean getting the hips x-rayed, etc!
Also, I have seen several questions lately about if a dog can get pregnant by more than one male. How could anyone let that happen? I know it isn’t hard to keep your female safe when she is in heat. (Trust me, I have one in heat now and two unaltered males.) It just takes common sense! So, why does it seem so hard for some people?
I understand that their are conflicting medical reports on the benefits of spaying/nuetering your pets. I will respectfully back away from that arguement. But, if you aren’t going to get your dog fixed, why aren’t you more careful about not allowing her/him to accidentally breed?
My dog Logan is an AKC Champion. He has OFA hips excellent. OFA elbows normal. OFA patella normal. CERF and gonioscopy normal.
He’s 2-1/2 years old. I’ve been approached by folks who wanted to use him as stud (I refused because I didn’t feel like he was ready). I still don’t know if I’ll ever breed him.
