I want to buy a german shepherd. I asked the man in Guard Dog Training Centre, he told me that their dogs don’t have a paper but are from working lines. Can I trust him?

Are you looking for a trained guard or protection dog or just a family pet? If you are looking for a trained guard dog I would recommend contacting some of the working dog associations in your area and asking if they recommend a kennel or can put you in contact with members who are happy with there dogs and find out what kennel there dog came from. If you are just looking for a family pet I would steer clear of these kennels as they are breeding for guard/protection dogs and puppies you get from them are going to be much higher drive dogs then the average person can handle. Contact the German Shepherd club in your area (I’m guessing you are in Australia based on the kennels and there are several depending on where you are in the country) they should be able to provide you with a list of breeders. Even if you are looking for a trained guard or protection dog they may be able to refer you. Owning a dog trained for protection or guard is a big responsibility so you want to make extra sure you get a dog trained at a respectable kennel.
