Guard Dog For Goats
Can pitbulls be guard dogs for goats?
I am just curios.
If they are raised with the goats will they protect them.
they do have a higher prey drive than other dogs, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t guard goats. However they do lack the instinct to herd as seen in some of the more traditional breeds of herding dogs. Natural herders will try to round up anything they can, including children.
Also using Pitbulls in this manner only furthers the myth that they are aggressive. They can be lovely dogs, and extremely intelligent. They can learn just about anything.
