Being a new USPS Letter Carrier?
I’ve been at it for two weeks and although it can be hard work, it’s nice to be out on your own. They say it’s the hardest job at the post office and I believe it. I can take the weather & walking but the damn dogs are ridiculous. I HATE dogs and I’m not feeling having to deal with them. We carry dog pepper spray ( I’ve used 3 times already) but what about the one that catches you off guard and thats assuming it will be just one. My route is in wealthy areas if your wondering but I’m still in the process of switching to mail handler inside the building. Could I be overreacting or do you understand my concern?
i say give yourself a little more time than 2 weeks to think about switching positions. like you said the weather is the best part and you get to be on your own. are a few dogs worth messing that up?
